#149 Jager Racing/ Yimisport Subaru WRX STI – GTA Finals SLB 2018

DNF -Not the type of result you want, or expect to have when competing for the Top Spot. Which is what Mark Jager and his team has been chasing for quite some time. Not a newcomer to the sport of Time Attack, but recognized for his Fast Blue Subaru WRX STI tuned and built alongside with YimiSport. He's been down this road before, attending and competing in Time Attack for a long time. Especially with Global Time Attack. Unfortunately this year it wasn't in the cards for him, and due to an engine failure of some sort he was out before he could even grab a good lap. His quickest to date is a 01:41.309 at Buttonwillow Raceway #CW13 when he won a First in his Class at GTA Finals Super Lap Battle 2016. Welp that we couldn't see what this Fast Subie could do with it's latest. We'll have to wait till 2019 for what's to come. #motolyric

What a perfect way to end a season. Although there are several other track events and days still left before the actual year ends. Global Time Attack’s Super Lap Battle is the finale for me. Through all the years from a spectator, to a visitor, then a photographer, and pretty soon a competitor. The Super Lap Battle 2-day event is the icing on the cake for a lot of drivers and teams. Including myself, and I can go on and on, on how great this event is. But I don’t want to bore you with that. Lol. The name itself makes you question, what do they mean? I thought about it and figured I’ll look into it later, but surely “The Speed Ring” has a nice tone to it. For me it was a short notice and last minute decision since we were just at the same Auto Club Speedway Fontana venue the weekend before. But with Time Attack mainly in our sights for the past months, we found out that many Global Time Attack Drivers were going to race at this event, along with many others I haven’t seen yet. In 2016 the Time Attack world continues to grow. With cars being built by not just one person anymore, but by a group of like-minded people that have the same passion and goal. With shops, tuners, and Industry companies involving themselves with these cars, the recognition is becoming apparent. Not to long ago, a enthusiast from the desert of California got hooked on a track day, and just went from zero to more. Mark Jager not only had a passion for cars, but a willingness to succeed to a racing career. Having already purchased a Subaru STI, he was doing some drag racing at the now defunct LACR, but found more. Staying active with his local track, Willow Springs International Raceway.
