Race Cars Always – Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach 2018

This year has been nothing but great. Every event so far, has been fast, cool, or just Race Cars Always. After spectating with a friend on Friday for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, I thought I wouldn’t have the itch to shoot some cars. Well it’s been years since I’ve taken it to the grandstands and become part of the Spectators Section, and luckily for me I had a friend that was willing to roll along with me. So the food is still expensive as hell, the drinks too, but the walking around and checking out booths and cars felt much different. I didn’t have my camera with me to capture some moments, or make small talk to fellow photogs. I just took it in as I should, saw familiar faces but didn’t interact much. Pikes Peak was insanely different and fun. Being part of an event that’s been going on longer than I have been on this earth is something else. Supposedly one of the oldest races in the USA coming in second to the Indy 500. Also possibly one of the hardest places for me to shoot. Pikes Peak has been just as much a challenge for photographers, as it was for anyone attending. Unlike most race tracks I’ve been to, we are talking about a whole mountain here, and one of 53 mountains called the “Fourteeners” which at the peak of Pikes Peak is 14,115 feet.  […]

PWC – Pork With Cheese, actually as you know it’s the Pirelli World Challenge. This year was unexpected and with high hopes of seeing the Real Time Racing Acuras Podium, it wasn’t their weekend or anybody’s for that matter. A majority of people confuse these Race Cars with the IMSA or TUDOR Championship cars that happened to be there that same awesome weekend in Long Beach. But a totally different set of rules, classes and though the cars do resemble similarities just think of these fine Race Machines a little more classed. With 7 different classes, it was the GT, GTA and GT Cup Cars that traded paint on the Streets of Long Beach that weekend. […]
