Race Cars Always – Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach 2018

This year has been nothing but great. Every event so far, has been fast, cool, or just Race Cars Always. After spectating with a friend on Friday for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, I thought I wouldn’t have the itch to shoot some cars. Well it’s been years since I’ve taken it to the grandstands and become part of the Spectators Section, and luckily for me I had a friend that was willing to roll along with me. So the food is still expensive as hell, the drinks too, but the walking around and checking out booths and cars felt much different. I didn’t have my camera with me to capture some moments, or make small talk to fellow photogs. I just took it in as I should, saw familiar faces but didn’t interact much. I wish it didn’t have to end. The Time Attack season comes to a close, as the Global Time Attack Super Lap Battle finishes off the year with a very memorable one. Days before this 2 day event at the ever popular Buttonwillow Raceway in the middle of nowhere. I had some personal matters that took me off path, a break-up, and more financial issues that brought me down bad, I almost didn’t have the heart to go, I ended up selling more of my camera equipment and car parts that I could buy again in the future. But I know I needed to be there, I had to move on and get taken back to what I love about this sport so much. I mean, that’s what it’s all about right. Having fun and doing what you love. In this case, it’s the Time Attack genre that we have learned to love and live with through the last 5 years we’ve been covering Global Time Attack. A place to race, a way to make friends, and most of all try to break some records for the sake of the sport. For the final round of GTA Pro-Am, the place was Big Willow at Willow Springs International Raceway. Hosting over 30 plus cars, the weather was holding up and teaming up again with So-Cal’s local Speed District, the event was again another great one. […]

Buttonwillow Pride – Well, actually it’s more like Global Time Attack takes over. Finally, after a season break, we get our first taste for the year, of true time attack in the states. GTA makes it even better for 2016. Alongside with Speed District again, the event was packed with Mild Cars to Full-Out purpose machines.
