The Hondata Experience. It came, it happened, and it was gone in a heart beat. Nestling down in the heart of Famoso Raceway, this New, and different experience was something unexpected, but so needed. While it’s still fresh in my head. Epic, if I had one word to describe Super Lap Battle COTA. What a place, what a time, and what an experience. It’s always been my dream to come to Circuit Of The America’s during a Formula One Season, but it never happened. It took me 7 years to finally step into this beautiful track, and in a way I never thought would be. Just like the old saying goes, you’ll never know where you’ll be 3-7 years down the line in your life. You can predict and try to manage fate but in some cases like mine it didn’t work out the way I intedend it too. In 2012 the F1 Season first time at COTA had my long time hero Michael Schumacher on the roster, and after announcing his retirement again halfway through the year, I knew I had one last chance to see him in person and watch my first F1 Race on American Soil. Being an F1 fan for years, this is what dreams are made of. But that same year I lost my job, and went through some of life’s tribulations and i didn’t end up going. Fast forward to 2019 I’m now here shooting for Super Lap Battle USA, Global Time Attack, and my company Motolyric. What a great start of the Time Attack Season, with so much to do in such a short 2 days. It was obvious I had my work cut out, and the angles, locations and everything else to be in it was going to be fun. First and foremost this track and it's facility is of the Best. Hands down, one if not the Best Location and [...]

#54 / #420 – Racing with a Passion. Project Import/Bobby Lane Racing Hondas

By |2019-03-24T22:41:43-07:00February 27th, 2019|Categories: EVENTS, GALLERY, NEWS|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Racing with a Passion -If I had the chance to document drivers and their teams 2-3 weeks prior to an event. The Project Import/ Bobby Lane Racing Shop and Crew would make one helluva a documentary. Hailing from Cali, and on the quest to make a mark at Super Lap BattleUSA COTA. This team worked 247 weeks prior on building, testing, rebuilding, retesting, and just making sure both these cars would make it to the event and run. Make it they did, and ran they did. But just likesome racing stories, even with the best hands or parts, sometimes it's just not in the cards for some of them. While their Pilots are truly Industry Known Race Car Drivers, bad-luck came around and took out their beautiful Unlimited Class Honda S2000 on the first day. Their Honda Accord on the other hand stayed together and managed to keep their Hired gun "Racing Ray Williams" from New Zealand driving through the weekend with a Best 02:27.135. I can only hope they are geared and will be back at it for GTA Road Atlanta in May. -Rommel #weloveit#racecarsalways #motolyric [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

#3 Monster in Sheep’s Clothing -TX Track NC Mazda Miata

Monster in Sheep's Clothing -Definitely the Biggest Surprise to me at Super Lap Battle USA COTA. And not to down talk on Miata's or the Owners. Lol. But I still remember seeing the roster list prior to the event, and Jenson Little's NC Miata was in the Unlimited Class. At the time, the only knowledge I had was the photo of the car, and without any stickers, or livery I was definitely interested in what this Little Beast had in it. Now keep in mind, I did the research and look around sparingly prior to SLB for more info. Well Jenson of TX Track NC, and the owner are more likely known in a few forums, but trying to find him on Instagram, or Facebook would be no luck. Fast Forward to Race Weekend, and on the first session, I saw this Miata fly down the Main Straight like a Bat out of Hell! I then knew from that Speed Perspective it was a Car to check out and watch. After getting a closer look, and finding a few more details about this beloved machine. Turbo Check, HGT Trans Check.. Hmmmm.. I'm really enthused about this Car. It not only podium'ed in a respective 3rd Place in the Unlimited Class, but this car did a 02:16.311 against cars that looked far more acknowledged in the same field. -Rommel #weloveit #racecarsalways #motolyric [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

The Honda Powered AE86 Coupe. Owned, Built, and Driven by Texas Native Joshua Garcia. A Dream come true, and a car that has to be seen in person to understand the capacity of what this car brings to the table. Granted it was also this cars Debut at Super Lap Battle USA COTA 2019. If you've been following me personally, you already know that I once had a Honda S2000, and have owned 5 different AE86's with One K24 powered Coupe still in my possession that I have been working on for years. (Another Story, another Day) But this is not about me, but my friend Joshua of Voodoo Racing, who I've been following since GTA Road Atlanta 2014! Now after 5 years I finally get to see him again back on track in his latest F22C powered Toyota Corolla AE86. Built with quality, and tasteful mods, from the JSP FabMounts, to the Sparco Seat it has so many good things going for it, that I can only sit behind my lens in awe and appreciate all the hardwork and dedication he's poured into this amazing car. -Rommel #weloveit#racecarsalways #motolyric [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
