Formula DRIFT Long Beach Day 2 – 2017

By |April 14th, 2017|

Day 2 of Formula Drift Round 1 was one to be remembered. With previous winners and champions looking to secure a win, no one would ever have predicted a Driver from Ireland James Deane to take the 1st place podium. Not until the Great 8 that you kinda knew it would either be Matt Coffman, Alex Heilbrunn, Chris Forsberg, Ryan Tuerck, Odi Bakchis, Dean Kearney, or the 2015 FD Champion Fredric Aasbo.  […]

Formula DRIFT Long Beach Day 1 – 2017

By |March 31st, 2017|

Every year the first round of Formula Drift starts on the streets of Long Beach. Something about this town, this stretch of streets and turns that make race cars go wild. Maybe it’s the echoes bouncing off the walls, the roars of the engines and screaming of the tires that make this place special. Whatever it is, I’m happy to be part of it going on 9 years now.  […]

The Final Chapter – Formula D Title Fight 2016

By |October 21st, 2016|

The end of another year, and the beginning of another book that solidifies the pro drift series of Formula Drift. What turned out to be a total different story in the end, when the 2016 championship was going to be decided between last year’s champ Fredric Aasbo and 2 time champ Chris Forsberg, with also a possible Vaughn Gittin Jr. to take it if the cards played in his favor.

But if history has taught us anything, is that Irwindale always changes the game right in front of us, and gives us what we never expected. In the top 32, Forsberg takes it away from Faruk Kugay easily since Kugay was supposedly down on power. […]

The Southern Drift at Road Atlanta – Formula D 2016

By |May 30th, 2016|

Nothing can ever replace the great memories I have with this round every year. Formula D at Road Atlanta is the best, and I know I always say that every year, but it’s the damn truth. In conjunction with Global Time Attack on the same days, it’s almost a perfect combination of Motorsports. With a interesting battle among the best in the World, Vaughn Gittin Jr. worked his way with what some may say a perfect drift to the finals. After taking out Tyler McQuarrie, Dai Yoshihara and Chris Forsberg he clenched a 1st place podium on this round making him a possible champ for the season.   […]

Rain or Shine Formula D returns to the LBC. Round 1 2016

By |April 14th, 2016|

Another year, another season. Formula D brings it down to the Streets of Long Beach again for 2016. Watered down from the heavens above, Friday started out really wet. Since 2007 I’ve been attending Formula D events, and only Road Atlanta, and a few others I felt the same rain experience during an event. But what made this one much more interesting is that the skill level of the drivers had to be on par. With only feet separating one K-rail barrier to the one across, it’s definitely not one to take lightly.

Goodbye House of Drift – Formula Drift Irwindale 2015

By |October 26th, 2015|

The Last Formula Drift at Irwindale Speedway. It’s what everyone has been saying building up to this event, but I could’ve sworn I heard 2014 and 2013 were the last years also. Regardless of the truth here we are in 2015 and as I’m shooting away at the cars sliding up and around the course, I still don’t believe it. Lol. Whatever the case may be, drifting will be here to stay, and hopefully for a long long time. The question is, where will they move the Final Round too? […]
