There’s a time and a place for everything. So they say, but for me Drifting will and always be home for me at Road Atlanta. I say it every year and for every enthusiast if you haven’t been to Road Atlanta for Round 2 Formula Drift then you haven’t seen it all. Plus, you get to be part of the Global Time Attack Pro Championship as part of the combo. All I’m saying is save a little more, buy your tickets in advance, and get reservations at cheaptickets.com months prior and it’ll be more affordable than you think. […]

Round 1 in the streets of Long Beach yet again. For me this is my 7th year covering the Formula Drift Series and what a kick-off for 2015 it was. The crowds were massive at yet another sold-out event, and I don’t know if it was the stories that built up to the first event, or could it have been the fact that there was notable changes in Drivers, Teams, and the Cars? The field seemed short due to the fact that some of our favorites like Taka Aono and his flyin 86, and Danny George with the LS Powerful Miata weren’t there doing battle to name a few. I’m sure I’m missing a few drivers but the show must go on as they say. […]

It’s midnight on the 29th of October literally 20 days since attending the World Famous Formula DRIFT Final aka the “Final Fight” burning the midnight oil is what they call it, but to be honest all the days in between I’ve been working at and about five different events, finishing this website’s final touches, and just about everything you can think of. October has been the busiest month by far for me this year, and we are days away from SEMA […]

Drifting sideways every weekend seems impossible. But the reality is every weekend or even some days drift events and proper sanctioning bodies are providing places for you to slide. Just Drift a local So-Cal entity has been giving grassroots superstars a place and experience that is welcoming to everyone, you can come to spectate, drift your car, or even a ride along. […]

You see the works of pro photographers capture Formula Drift images like no one else can. So many others with camera equipment fighting for that unique photo, only to see everyone has similar shots. Well, last week was my opportunity to dive in headfirst and see what it was FD was all about. Knowing hardly anything about the sport, my eyes and ears were wide open and I asked plenty of questions. […]

It is amazing to think that this whole thing was started with a simple sideways slide of a car. The sideways sliding technique created by Kunimitsu Takahashi as he raced the circuits in Japan. This technique later adopted by Keiichi Tsuchiya, who adapted it to his own style of racing and practiced it on the mountain roads of Japan. The rest as they say, is history. […]
