Sin City as always the city of Late Night Bustle and Hustle. IDRC aka Import Drag Racing Circuit called the shots and paved way to a new chapter in Import Drag Racing, they wanted to keep it alive in the West Coast and by doing so, they have been at it with blood sweat and tears to make what it is today.

The Sin City Nationals were plastered in Full-Page ads on DSPORT, and Social Media, but it wasn’t enough to get at least the 70% or more that were expected or missing. We arrived there on Friday to get a glimpse of the qualifiers and see what cool machines were going to battle the following day. Surprisingly enough, not one trailer at 4pm has arrived, just some vendors setting up, a die-hard racer in his light blue CRX and me and a few people killing the shit.

Well, in the short term it wasn’t what it turned out, and 1-3 cars per class made it a shortened event. For future events the DSPORT Staff asked for what they could do to get the racers here, what happened and why? Unfortunately, I don’t have a definitive answer, but I can say one thing and I’m sure everyone involved within this industry has either heard it or agree, our scene does not deserve any of  these problems.

We’ve been there and done that, without going back to the 90’s and what happened is too long of a story to tell, but for the past 5 years we have successfully been able to bring this scene back. Starting from the streets to the grassroots it has made a slight climb and every year the numbers in the pits and stands are just getting bigger.

People have asked for more events on this side of the coast, comparing the Giant eastern brother where the Import Drag Racing scene has flourished and has been bringing enormous crowds, so big enough that are West Coast Pros are heading over there to race and place.

If you want to make a change or make a difference, you have to be willing to accept all costs, mistakes, failures and results. So let’s not beat a dead horse or start another storm we don’t need, regardless of where it started. Let’s just build, race and have a fucking blast.
