Gridlife Track Battle 2019 by Rommel Estrada

By |February 14th, 2019|

What turned out to be a quick visit, ended up becoming more of a catch up on some old friends I haven’t seen in awhile, to making a few new ones in our World of Time Attack.

This Gridlife event was the first West Coast trim from my knowledge, and I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy and capture more cars. Super Bowl (yes I know, I do watch other sports, lol) happened to be on the same day, and arriving early to capture some quality content while catching up with the drivers and their cars was straight to the point. It’s been a minute since I last drove a car on track, and I still find it very pleasing seeing these people unfold and perform on track. This time it was under a different banner, but nonetheless the same concept. Attacking time in a certain way, getting the best that you can do on a given day, with your current car setup and goals.

This is also the first Gridlife event I have attended or captured, and the Track Battle format is something interesting, but before I say more about it, I definitely need more field time to understand and dissect this new style of Time Attack. Hence the traditional format of Time Attack is still and will always be the foundation of the Time Attack Sport, but giving it different perspectives can enhance the Fan experience, and for many others I can understand why. Regardless, I had a great short time, and it was a good 2019 entry for more Time Attack events to follow this year. -Rommel Estrada

Gridlife Track Battle 2019 by Jeremy Adajar

By |February 7th, 2019|

Wind chills made it difficult to shoot but the rain from yesterday and fast-moving cloudy skies provided a nice backdrop for a track that’s typically just clear skies and dry yellow dirt.  I’m all in for photo ops and it being my first Gridlife event, I’m excited to see their time-attack “TrackBattle Brackets” format.  Its Superbowl Sunday and I expected low attendance but its a good turnout.  A nice mix of talent of drivers, track/race cars and media.  Met up with friends and new people; putting a name to a face, car, camera or a social media @account is always fun.  The first half of the event ran like a typical track day, run groups out on track for HPDE and Qualifying.  But for the other half, that’s when everything gets turned up a few notches.  Two cars are released onto an open track in a Tōuge style lead-follow battle. Green flag… gap ’em.  Blue flag, switch positions.  Green flag, close the gap and take the win at the checkered.  Live commentary and post-race interviews over the PA loudspeakers, as well as the crowd cheering, heightened the excitement.  This was a great experience, and I’m a fan of this time-attack format.  I hope we get more of this here in the West Coast.  But for now, check out these photos – Jeremy Adajar

FCS Race x Motolyric 2019

By |February 5th, 2019|

New Shirt, New Color, New year. That’s right, after so many Black Shirts, a few Grey’s and White’s here and there, we officially launched a new color way with our recent collaboration.

FCS Race is no stranger to the community. The racing world in general or in anything motorsports related, especially in Drag Racing. From full custom intercoolers, and fuel tank solutions, to newly discovered innovative products that not only help the Racers improve, but change the game for race cars and for the better. I’ve been grateful to know Jason Park for many years and his staple in the industry has definitely been a consistent one. Which is always working on the best possible solutions for racing down the 1320. But him, and his devoted crew have been helping many other cars and setups from with their state of the art shop.

With that being said, we are honored to bring this dope Navy Blue Shirt showcasing the Infamous Ghost Rider on the Back of the shirt, (Art by Mert of EDC Graphics) with the FCS logo on the front upper left chest and the #valleyside -Rommel Estrada

Import Face-Off Fontana 2019

By |January 31st, 2019|

Short and sweet, but good times nonetheless. We came and witness some early birds that have been lined up at the gate. The Car show was massive, and the amount of people attending was huge. But in true Motolyric Fashion we came back to the IFO Series for the Racing. The Drag Racing that is, since we only did 1 IFO event last year, we really missed out on a lot of racing. But 2019 shows some good dates for us to make it to more of them. It was good running into people we know, but always good seeing different cars and setups. Especially ones we haven’t seen in awhile. Regardless we shot away and stayed for a bit. -Rommel Estrada #dragracingforever

The New 2020 Toyota Supra

By |January 14th, 2019|

“The tuning you and your team did in Nurburgring paid off. It really handles like a race car.” – Fernando Alonso

That’s all I needed to hear. Finally after the official reveal of the 2020 Toyota Supra. I can say it actually looks really awesome. Without judging it’s stock form through a Computer Monitor I can already develop the looks of it in Race Car Form.

Besides the one that they already created for the Super GT Racing Series. I can already picture more aggressive wheel and tire combos. Updated aero additions, and much more. It to me is a great platform based on what I have gathered from legit sources. It is not a Big Power car from the Factory, but the potential is there with it’s Straight 6 Turbo powerplant. With the modern suspension tech from the factory being the only questionable thing, and the fact that the powerplant was a BMW Joint build. I can assure you that this car will still be a Big hit. Not for a percentage of the Previous Supra Owners, but more so for the New Aged Buyers.

This Car is priced right for a Sports Car that is not exceeding a price that I thought would land it in the $70k-$100k range. It’s in the ranks of the base model Corvette. It’s priced below a Entry Level Porsche 911, and it’s got potential written all over it. Will people buy it? For sure they will, and the looks for those that still don’t like it, that will go under the rug in the next few months once people start buying them. We live in the world of Social Media now, and that is the ticket that […]

SEMA 2018

By |December 30th, 2018|

Another year or another SEMA for some. For me it was one out of 13 past SEMA’s, but since 2014. Lol. Either way, I had a great time and saw cars, parts, and builds that made me realize the direction of the Motorsports Industry is going well.  […]
