Some events I’ve been to in the past that combine a track day, a car show, a vendor row, and even some autocross usually brings some goodness. But this time around, either it be that I love the AE86 that much or some major heads collaborated a better event, then the rest to make this one the best in the books for us.

86 FEST 5  in its 5th year coming strong was on August 6, to hence the title even more, they created an event with the leading Time Attack series Global Time Attack at Auto Club Speedway Fontana. Using the inner field of the Speedway, the time attack cars were chasing times, while a specific 86 Group also hit the asphalt sessions at a time. For this event in addition to what I captured, we had Michael Verceles of Art Of Racing and Jesse Torres of Street Photography fame to also capture some cool photos of the event and cars.

Celebrating all things AE86, and the Scion FRS, or Subaru BRZ aka GT86 I got to give props to the event organizers, because they made this one a blast. The Car show had all the big guns in the industry, from Falken Tire, to DSPORT Magazine rows of shops, stores and brands like us had booths offering the latest parts for cars, or fresh threads for the masses. But it didn’t stop there, food trucks brought some interesting eats, and the way the setup was combined together was really cool. Using the section of the pit garages and it’s outer parking it was very easy to walk through and check out a show car, while feet away a time attack car is pitted for a tire check. Move around a bit more and rows of more vendors galore, and show cars while enthusiasts snap some shots or talk gear head stuff. Having always been a shooter, spectator or guest at the last four 86 Festivals, it was an honor to post up a Motolyric Booth this year. Thanks to Antonio and his 86 Fest crew for always making us feel welcome and making it great. We truly hope to do the next one in 2017, and can’t wait to do more events with the booth, for now enjoy the photos in cased you missed out. -Rommel Estrada #86forever
